HP & the GoF

O.K. I saw GoF the opening day and WOW, it is the best HP movie yet. I am really pleased that the movies just keep getting better. That said, GoF fully earns its PG-13 rating. Some movies like Big Fish (rated PG-13 for violence, some images of nudity, sexual references), Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and the Lord of the Rings movies (all rated PG-13 for epic battle sequences and some scary images) get a PG-13 rating yet I would have no qualms about taking a much younger child to see any of these movies. GoF though, is dark. VERY DARK. It can be disturbing at points (as I left the theatre I saw a kid about 7 actually shaking as he walked out) and while GoF can be very funny at points (thank GOD! Otherwise it would be too dark even for me) the humor is mostly sexual. Now, don't confuse the preceding statement for my suggesting that small children shouldn't know anything about sex, rather I think that the sexual humor would go over the head of the average kid under 10. If the humor is confusing the child is left with a movie that is mostly scary only to be broken up occasionally by the confusing. Not a happy time for a little kid. So, 13 or older run out and see it, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

THINGS THAT ARE SWEET

Brazil serving school children coffee with breakfast. Lucky Brazilian children can get the liquid of life with their free school breakfast. Is it too late for me to go to elementary school in Brazil?
