Maybe now they will understand

To all the people who, upon seeing my California ID, ask "Why would you leave there to come here the weather is so much nicer there!", perhaps this will help them understand! The damn place is falling into the ocean. And good riddance I say!

Sorry, no I HATE Southern California. I have yet to meet anyone who is from there and likes it or who is transplanted there and likes it who, in my estimation, has any value as a humanbeing. As for the land itself ... unstable desert vally is NOT my idea of paradise. The constant fires, mudslides and earthquakes are natures way of saying "People shouldn't live here" and the climate isn't temperate is is FREAKING HOT. Give me the Midwest or New England ANY day over So Cal. I know both of these regions have their own flaws ... the Midwest has tornados and blizzards and New England has hurricanes ... but they are much more infrequent compaired to the natural disasters in Southern California. SF on north is LOVELY country. Metro LA on south should be given back to Mexico ... if they even want it anymore. As for the rest (like the Inland Empire) ... use it to test nukes.

ya, SoCal blows... the people, the "culture"... but the surf is good and you can run into some amazing farmer's markets late in the season...
SF is where it's at.

I don't surf so I'll take your word on that, and yeah the farmers markets are cool. I'm just bitter from living in L.A. County for a year. And now that I have returned everytime I show my California ID (I haven't gotten around to getting a WI ID again) Store clerks yell at me for leaving California and coming back to Wisconsin. I just prefer an area where *most* people take responsibility for their actions, an 8 o'clock meeting STARTS at 8, and I don't suffer respitory ailments due to constant fire (I was living in Santa Clarita during the big fire in 2003)
